HESC’s Fields and Sports Facilities
A challenge facing many soccer clubs in non-suburban locales is access to quality fields. In many cases, green space has been sold to make way for residential and commercial development. This has occurred at a time when the numbers of children participating in youth sports is at an all-time high. HESC has addressed the field space issue with our ownership-partnership in the South Campus sports complex. These fields ensure that the club will continue to be a vibrant part of the youth soccer landscape and overall community.
Our club-owned facility, South Campus, is located near the corner of Stella Link and Loop 610, just a stone’s throw from Reliant Stadium. South Campus is the largest private youth sports complex in Texas, with 55 acres of green space owned collaboratively by five youth sports leagues.
HESC is currently in the process of developing a “McGovern Campus” near the corner of Stella Link and Bellaire Blvd. This campus will have space for four additional 8 v 8 fields, including one full-size “championship” 11 v 11 field with restricted egress, lighting, scoreboard, concessions, bathrooms, locker rooms, and seating for 1,000 spectators.
Other Fields
In addition to our own fields, the club utilizes numerous nearby public and private fields: Feld Park, St. Catherine’s Montessori, The Rice School, Pin Oak Middle School, Southside Place Park, Pershing Middle School, West U Elementary, and the West U Rec Center.
