Express hires Tarik Guendouzi

Houston Express is excited to welcome Tarik “Taz” Guendouzi as the HESC Director of Boys Programming.

Tarik joins HESC from Fort Worth FC Soccer Club where he worked as Director of Coaching since 2008, overseeing club management and soccer operations and helping FWFC to attain high respect in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Prior to that, Tarik worked as Director of Academy and as a Staff Coach for FWFC, coaching both boys and girls competitive teams, including teams that competed at the State Classic, State Cup and Regional competitions.

Tarik’s most significant achievement at FWFC was to develop and run Fort Worth FC College program, which has delivered over 100 players to college soccer programs at D1, D2, D3, NAIA and Junior College levels.

In addition to his work for FWFC, Tarik was also the Fort Worth Country Day School Program Director for girls soccer, having started there as JV Coach for girls in 2004, moving to Head Varsity coach in 2007 and assuming the Program Directorship in 2014. While at FWCDS, Tarik’s teams won two State Championships (2010, 2012), the first for the school in 35 years.

Tarik has also scouted for the US Soccer Federation for the U13 Boys and U14 Boys national age groups for purposes of recommending players to US Soccer Development Academy training centers in North Texas and coached in the North Texas Olympic Development Program (ODP) from 2003 to 2008, taking many teams to ODP Region 3 competition.

As a coach, Tarik’s objective is to “help as many players to get better, achieve dreams and move to the next level; to make the game fun and positive for everyone involved at all levels.”

Tarik holds a USSF A License and a B.S. in Public Relations and Communications from Wingate University. While at Wingate, Tarik was the Captain of the Wingate Bulldogs men’s soccer team of the South Atlantic Conference. Prior to attending Wingate, Tarik played for the Cardiff City Boys, Aston Villa and Glasgow Rangers.
